Contact Guy at 760-519-4238 if your interested.

From a prior post....We have completed the first run of new windshields for the Cabo Cuddy Con and are now taking orders. We can make them in Clear or in Tinted Smoke. They are a perfect OEM fit beautifully crafted by Diversified Manufacturing in San Marcos, CA (760) 599-9280.

This is how my boat looks right now. I am repowering with a Yamaha F150. I spent many hours researching the F150 vs F200 debate and here's a few reasons why I chose F150: 150 on the dyno is close to 165 and the 200 is underachieving at 195. 150 is $3,200 cheaper. F150 2.7l is the best selling and arguably most reliable four stroke ever made. F200 is a new 2.8l block which isn't proven. (However, I'm sure it's still a great reliable motor.) The 150 has a 2:1 ratio compared to the 1.86:1 ratio of the 200. The 150 can run on 87 and the 200 must run on 89 or 91.

Bill Parker was nice enough to take me out in his 216 that is set up like mine and the F150 pushed it plenty fast for what I need.

I just received my new tinted windshild from Guy. It is beautiful and a perfect copy. I will post pictures of it installed upon my return from Cabo San Lucas.
Thanks Guy!

I am going to need new side windows for the cuddy, and also new side doors for the seating console. Do you guys know these are available from anywhere, or will I need to have them custom made? Thanks!

If you have a 216, consider replacing the 4 plastic thru hull fittings in the splash well, they will eventually leak and if no one is around the boat will sink. Also check the brass sleeves in the transom that are rotten and bleeding water into the wood. You're welcome.

Not sure they are available anywhere. However, we can manufacture them for you if needed - either out of teak wood like mine or a more economical and practical plastic or poly. Let us know your need.

Thanks Guy. I will definitely take a set of smoke colored side windows for the cuddy. As far as the doors for the seating console, let me decide if I want starboard or teak and we'll go from there. But I will definitely need a set made. Thanks!

Thats a nice boat. That wouldn't happen to be the one sold by the 2 boat trader guys down in Lemon Grove/Helix with the origional Yamahas (225 and kicker) on it is it? If it is, that's a really nice boat. If it is, I have a funny story for you...that boat should actually be registered in my name! I bought the boat before you did, made a deal with Steve and shook on it. Had to leave for Boston the next day for the week with an agreement that we would wet test it when I returned. When I got back on Friday Steve initially wouldn't take my call then when he finally did he informed me he sold it to you during my absence. Needless to say I was a initially a little pissed with his "best dealing". Happy for you though. That is a real nice boat!

As it turned out, I found a replacement up in NorCal that had been sitting for a few years with a 2005 Evinrude 200 DFI (200 hrs), spent a little less on purchase price, replaced the fuel tank IMCO, relocated batteries under front seat, added Bennett trim tabs, new Lowrance head unit, Airimar B75 through hull transducer and Lowrance structure scan ducer, and a TTop from PYT. After the refurb it all worked out the same and I'm very happy with my boat and happy that you got that boat - it was a sweet ride! Hope to see you on the water.

PS - Saw on Craig's list your selling that motor. Did you sell it? If not - there is a guy up in Livermore looking for a cheap motor for his 226. Good luck.

Call us when you have decided what you want and you are ready to place the order. We will need one or both of the side Cuddy portal glass as templates. Also if you have the doors, we will need those as well as templates.

Unfortunately I do not have either one of them to use as templates. I will give you a call to discuss options.

Wow! Definitely same boat! I checked it out on a Wednesday and went back the next day with cash. He did not mention anyone else checking it out. I feel like I got a good boat to work with. I bought it knowing I'd put 30k into it over the next 2 years. The boat worked for this summer, but it's getting a complete makeover now. I'm hoping to be completely done with everything by mid March. I sold the Excel to a local fisherman. Should serve him well until he can upgrade. Glad to hear it all worked out and you found a 216! I don't ever see myself selling this boat. Unless a 256 pops up for a steal.

Hey guys, thanks for all of the great information in this thread. I have a few questions as I get started working on the boat:
1. Do any of you know of a good color match for the gel-coat for an '88 216? Not sure if they made them in other colors, but it seems like all of the 216s I've seen have the very light grey tint.
2. Would any of you guys around San Diego mind letting me check out your boat and possibly take some pics to use as references for my restoration? Most of the hardware is currently off the boat, and was when I got it, so some references would be very helpful for putting her back together, especially for some of the less visible and less commonly photographed areas of the boat.
I'm sure I will have a lot more questions as I move along here, so thanks again for all of the information here.
