I know most of the people who post on this board are from the West Coast, but I would like to take a minute to talk about Cabbage Key Rod and Reel. I had a problem with some line that wasn't anyones fault, but nonetheless it caused me some headaches.

I called Eddy at Cabbage Key and asked him what do to. He said" It doesn't matter, tell me how to fix your problem"

I asked for new line. Expensive line.

HE said, no problem.

I was away for a few days, and when I returned home, the line was waiting for me.

Simply put, Eddy is a man of his word and stands behind what he sells.

I had a problem with spectra packed too loosely on my Avet 50 SDS--it ended up digging into itself and got stuck while I was on a 230+ lb thresher.

Eddy had me ship him the reel and he took care of the problem at his expense.

Solid customer service in my book, something that is sorely lacking these days most places.

Because of service like that, between my friend Jess and I, we have bought over 25 Avets from Eddy and will continue to use him as our primary source.

Anyone can have a problem, but we need to stick to the guys who help you fix it, like Eddy at Cabbage Key !

She called CharkBait and they set up a Avet HX with straight 60# mono. On my way to the docks I stopped in and asked them why anyone on the west coast would spool an HX with straight mono. No joy. I asked them to re-spool it and they did…at full price. <o></o>
