I just picked up this reel and I am excited to use it for yo-yo this season. However, the studs are so close together that I can't find a reel seat that they will "bridge" over so I can use the clamp. I help out in my friend's tackle shop, so I literally tried this on many, many sizes of reel seats with no luck. Anyone have ideas? Thanks.

Why not just remove the studs?

Ya, that's pretty much the plan for now and fish it without the clamp. Im sure it will be fine. It's just that it comes with a clamp, but it doesn't seem to work with any reel seat. Just makes me go hmmmmm.

i have a b2600xn, the only rod i found to fit was a phoenix rod. i will have to look up the model number. i took the reel to the fred hall show and tried many, many rods until i found the one.

Check out Phenix Black Diamond PSW 700H or XH they have triangular Alps reel seat. My Dauntless 600NN fits on it perfectly.

Any quality rod with a good Fuji reel seat will work just fine if you don't use the clamp. You really don't need the clamp with a good reel seat. I've talked to several customers who have found a problem with usING the clamp with the NN configuration.
I have spoken to several custimers who have run into this issue. The bottom line, you really don't need the clamp if you are using a quality rod with a good Fuji or other quality reel seat. This is kind of a can't have your cake and eat it too situation. The narrower the reel, the less width there is to spread the studs for the clamp.
