Yep, for those interested, we have been hitting the sea bass very well up to almost 5 pounds. Nice fish on very light tackle and even small diamond jigs. I like this type of fishing. Our last trip to Stellwagen...before the winds started blowing... we lost the biggest porbeagle I've ever seen. Mid-400# fish..we got it within sight once..but it was a monster.. After 60 minutes, 40' from the boat it ran like it was afraid and the hook pulled out against the heavy drag. Wow. Not bad way to end the day after bailing groundfish all day. I do like that type of shark fishing....

We will get started fishing south of the Vineyard for sharks in late June....good sharking down there early season. Nice chance at mako and thresher, too. Or bluefin tuna...

The run+gun season is upon us on Cape Cod. Until then...it's buzzards bay!

See you on the water, Rich

The lakes may be dry in California becuase of the drought but the ocean fishing is the best it has been in 40 years. party boats are limiting out on 40-50 lb. yellowfin and bluefin tuna.
