Big thanks to Mike Long on the newly christened Bubba Jean 28 for putting us on the fish. We absolutely killed em. 23 Yft in a matter of 1 hour for 4 anglers.

Captain Mike spotted a bird tornado 15 miles from Point Lima. We pulled up, threw a dipper and the fish erupted. Instant quad hook up and steady action thereafter. Everytime we threw some bait the tuna would swoosh on it. Very cool!

Soon we had a float-tilla around us, but the fish were UNDER our boat. Other boats couldn't get hooked up. Very strange. Maybe it was because we were throwing tons of live chum, not sure. Most our fish were caught on 25lb floro.

Bottom Line: The Bubba Jean 28 is a fish killing machine just like the original Bubba Jean just way nicer. The Sea Deck is awesome, I was barefoot all day and very comfortable. The huge bait tank is awesome and really makes a difference when the fish want bait.

    Go fish.

Nice thanks for the report! Had a bite
like that last year, cruised by a paddy threw bait and the tuna followed our boat/bait drift with other boats all around not having any luck.

Thanks for the report. Always a blast when a wide open bite. Seadek needs that picture on their site as that is the same color I just purchased to have installed on my boat. Deck looks good.

    Thank you Tony,
It was really a nice day, the fish responded well to the live bait . The high volume of chum definitely seemed to keep em around the boat.
Bubba Jean 28 is not 100% yet. But Drew and I put another full day in her today. We made huge progress, testing all electrical systems and making repairs, replacements as needed. The electronics are AMAZING, I credit the BOAT, the SETUP and the ELECTRONICS for turning another frustrating bird school into a CHAOTIC FRENZY of screaming drags, hoots and hollers.
Side-vu and Panoptix transducers made monitoring the school of fish like watching LIVE TV. I could locate the fish on the screen , throw bait right on their heads, and then CALL the explosion. It was super cool to tell the boats around me right where to chum/ cast.
We shared the love on the radio, then headed in early. One stop shopping at its finest........

    Congrats Mike. Outstanding day.

I was on the spectator side of this bite. Pulled in at the last minute and setup wind. Got to watch Mike take a group foto... then the boils on his stern, then he catches yet another tuna while everyone around him just watched. I saw two bozo-boats pull on top of the fish.

I did see few boats bent when I pulled in. Grey commercial and a far off center console.

Good job. We went 1-4 at Desperation reef. But was bumpy.
