Interesting pitching prospects for Adams. Glad Bell stays. Need to sign to a long term contract. Adams is a china doll, Bell is a work horse. Happy with this news.

Trying to confirm Ryan Ludwich traded to Pittsburgh?

Ludwick traded to Pittsburgh for cash or a player to be named. Now we'll see Kyle Blanks in left and Guzman and Rizzo at first the rest of the year.

The two double A pitchers the Padres got from Texas for Adams, Robbie Erlin and Joe Wieland, had been had targeted in their negotiations with the Rangers. Both were pitching for Frisco of the Texas League.

Erlin, 20, is 8-4 with a 3.34 ERA and 123 strikeouts against 12 walks in 20 games this season between Single-A and Double-A this season. He was the Rangers’ third-round selection in the 2009 draft.

Wieland, 21, is 10-3 with a 1.80 ERA this season between Single-A and Double-A. He has 132 strikeouts against 15 walks over 21 games. He was the Rangers fourth-round pick in 2008.

Wieland threw a complete-game no-hitter Friday night against the Padres Double-A affiliate in San Antonio. Wieland issued only one walk while facing the minimum 27 hitters.

Erlin, who is 6-foot and 175 pounds. He was rated as the Rangers fourth-best prospect and was ranked among the top 40 prospects in all of the minor leagues in Baseball America’s recent midseason report.

Wieland, is 6-foot-3 and 175 pounds.

It's pretty bad when the Pirates, of all teams, are giving the Padres CASH..... LOL
