Me, Dave and Lou left Oceanside harbor yesterday @ 7am (with beautiful bait) to catch the 9:30, 6.44ft high tide and nice weather. Notice in the pics the lake like conditions. We mentioned more than a few times throughout the day how amazed we were to be out there in those conditions catching hog yellows in December. Every time someone posts "what a way to end the season" someone else will post another great day. Does it ever really end here? These guys put me to shame with their fish. Dave's was around 30-35# (45") and Lou's was a good 35-40#(48"), both had huge girth to them. The larger of the two had 6 rock fish and two large sardines in it.

We also caught one nice halibut, two nice sculpin and 3-4# sand bass.

Why is that some of you have to ruin a great moment. Whats the difference whether they were 30 or 40 pounds, who gives a shit! They were big ass fish and and we were excited as hell. This is why I don't post much. Theres one in every crowd and this site has its share.

I'm actually not trying to be a dick but accurate size does matter, because if they are all over 30-40lbs I'm throwin no less than 40-50lb at them, if they are the 20-25lb class you can use 30lb for them. Plus if they are that big I'm only dropping down a fat Mack instead of a 6in sardine. The reasons for these forums isn't just to show off how you slayed it but also to provide some type of info for people about to head out, especially since you added no info towards bait, rig, anchor or drift.

There is always someone in every crowd that needs to ruin the fun in posting. Why don't you just enjoy the post and keep your negative comments to yourself. Chill and enjoy life. This is supposed to be for fun. No need to challenge every little detail.

I said nice. I said I love your boat. If you tell the truth you won't be so defensive.

I think they sell scales at West Marine...You even get a discount. o_O

It's not what you say some times it's how you say it. Sarcasim. And then you get the ball rolling for the rest of them to come out of the woodwork. How about something like I guesting the weight but nice going. Or just nice going and leaveven the rest alone. Besides you weren't there. Who are you to question anything. You do have some valid points but no need to challenge me.

I won't say anymore about this and probably won't post anything again.

Congrats guys for hitting it when everyone else has given up for the winter. And yes that last tail in the series of photos is nice! I don't get too caught up in trophy fishing for size...I like eating em and those are some nice fat tails....sashimi grade!!!
