I got the opportunity to fish out of Bahia De L.A. this week. I went down for 3 days of fishing with 9 buddies. We stayed at Cangrejo's and fished with Pedro and Igor...two great guys!

My first 2 days were aboard Pedro's panga and the 3rd day was with Igor. This dude is an awesome captain and it was a pleasure watching him work.

We pulled a bunch of yellows over the rail, along with a few grouper, and a WSB. The coolers were stuffed and everyone had a great time.

I'm happy to be able to make my first trip Baja and will definitely make it back down next year. I just hope this experience hasn't ruined me on catching local yellows.
It's awesome getting a consistent bite and not having to scratch for a couple of fish.

Here's what I was able to drag over the rail while my panga mates were enjoying an awesome sashimi spread, laid out by our captain, Igor. Thanks for the space fellas...

Igor told us that he hasn't had a yellow this size on his panga in 13 years.

Scott, all I can say is, 2 spd reels rock... we drifted so far off the reef that he didn't have that short, 15 ft run into the rocks...and 4 other guys standing on the stern gulping down the freshest sashimi ever means no lines in the water. It was a perfect storm, gone right.

We're about 10 min out of Guillermo's landing. Unfortunately, it's my first trip and haven't learned any names of locations.

I believe you may be right; this is exactly what I didn't want to happen.
All good though, now I'm after bigger tuna.

I heard about your fish on the radio - one of the boats from our group was pretty close to you.

Did you get a look at the monster halibut that came from the same 212' area?
