Detroit, I don't think we have to go that far.
If anything we can subdivide the building in Everett into are marijuana grow and processing facilities. They already have all the power and ventilation in place. I can see it now the worlds largest indoor grow show. Washingtons newest oldest industry.
If i still lived in Arizona the drinking wouldn't of stopped until i ran out of money. Haven't cracked a cold one yet but will soon. It could get interesting but i will most likely forget about you douchebags and find something productive to do, like jamming shards of glass under my fingernails. But seems im gonna go deplete the salmon population tomorrow i must save that for another day. And Tues a Salmon in a fish that lives in salt water and spawns in fresh water. I personally like chinook. It is nothing like the catfish or bass turd tank cleaning tilapia you southern guys are used to our fish actually taste good and are good for you.
I think we can pretty much all agree that Boeing jobs are great jobs for the employees and the community. There are a millions of people who wished they had the income and employment security that Boeing employees have enjoyed for so many years. All of us in Puget Sound have connections to Boeing employees and contractors. We've been lucky that these jobs are here. ALL Boeing employees spend their money and contribute to the local economy. There are a helluvalotta boats, RVs, trucks, and such bought and sold every day due to the Boeing Company. I thank you all, from the top down or the bottom up. Hopefully y'all can agree to live with each other for a very long time to come, without a bunch of pissing and crying. I personally would hate to see Boeing move more of their operations out of Washington, which they have demonstrated they are capable of doing. As a state we have benefited from Boeing, albeit not without immense concessions. I wish the state would forgive my tax bills. Let's not let Everett become the next Detroit.
it seems that a lot of you feel cause it happened to you that we all need to join in the march to the bottom. 9:30 tonight we will know.
I don't see it as that at all. I see a bunch of people wishing you the best. This just comes from personal experience and many of us having our asses handed to us. Good luck Amigo. When will you know? If the worst happens I don't think you will see anyone gloating over it. Losing your job is a pretty big, life changing experience. Especially now.
But how are Tues, EZ, and Gil supposed to grow a pair of testicals. I guess that makes Tues's puke worth a shitload of money.
Wish you could see what I go through to insure that in a crash that those over head Stowbins(overhead luggage) don't fall on your head. I build the strongback(structure) that the bin bucket attaches/pivots to.
Most who bash unions know little to nothing about them or they are business owners or just plain fucking stupid. If you guys think that Boeing doesnt have a plan to leave already your wrong. I have 34000 hours invested in my trade and have had 3 spine surgeries to keep at it. I started in the non union sector and am very glad i joined up. Too many people think that unions are the devil and it makes no sense. Why would anyone give up strength in numbers for an army of one. Some comments on here are made by guys with extravagant yachts in their avatars saying unions are bad and all i can say is that even with my wage which is in the upper middle class and not on the bottom this state isnt cheap to live in. 100k a year doesnt buy much more than a rambler and a car. Until you rich faggots have to work for a living "SHUT YOUR FUCKING PIEHOLES". Your spoonfed family inheritance lifestyle you live wasnt free to the person who earned it and i would say it wasnt you.
I used to think I was "uniquely qualified".
Then the Great Recession(under Bush R. Not Obama D) hit in '07 and I was unemployed and shortly thereafter homeless.
The world went on without my unique qualifications......
It was a very humbling experience.
I hope the Boeing workers don't vote themselves into a similar circumstance.
ALL workers are replaceable. If they have to hire 4 people to do your job until one can do it alone at less compensation, they'll just fire the other 3 and be ahead before long.....
I'm not well versed in labor contracts, pensions, etc. But, I do know about learning to appreciate what you had when it's gone. Think it through.
Except that Boeing is rolling in $$ and has order stacked up for years to come. Building airplanes ain't exactly filling twinkies
I do not have dog in this fight either, but I find it weird that people are angry that workers make a decent living and have decent benefits, but don't seem to have an issue with top management getting huge salaries and bonuses......
As highly skilled as you guy are, if you think for one minute that you all can't be replaced at the drop of a hat.
I have to stand with Carl on this one.
Be smart don't lose your jobs.
Are you dissatisfied with $100,000 (or more) a year to work for one of the best employers in the nation? If I am wealthy, why would you assume someone else earned it for me? Those of us who take financial risk, work long, hard, uncompensated, and without a safety net often reap the rewards of such endeavors. I'd like to think that we can take either path without offending each other. A few of my union member friends (I have several) declared bankruptcy during the recession. I nearly had to, as well. Their union didn't pay their mortgages for them when they were out of work. The kind of shit you're slinging here only comes from other guys who are unhappy fucks. I'm happy for you if you are doing well, and I would hope you would feel the same for a guy like me who actually employs people and makes a living for myself at the same time. I hire union and nonunion workers alike. I'm guessing you do, too.
