I make it easy and go solo most of the time. The few guys I do bring out have boats or have had boats in the past. They know the deal and I rarely ever have issues. I don’t bring out guys that only have charter or long range boat experience. They tend to not know how things are done on a private boat.

    Over kill.

Share with expenses. (trip expenses, I don't expect you to cover my boat owner costs).

Help clean the boat during the trip and after.

Help load and unload shit from the boat.

Don't expect me to turn the boat around if you get sea sick. Suck it up.

    Split the catch

    Don't be a dick

Don't complain about slow or dead bite, or ocean conditions. We all are aware of it.

Don't ask when we are coming back.

Be on time. If I ask to be at the boat at 5 am..that means 5 am.

Offer to help if you think you can do what may be asked of you. If you are clueless, thats fine. Just say so.

Have a good time, and don't get to serious. I fish for fun, not a living.

Leaves black marks all over the gel coat hard to get clean and the end of the day. Same with some butt caps . I got a system and usually clean the boat myself it’s quicker that way. Not having black marks speeds up the process. Either way works but if you think about it knowing little things like that makes a better day for everyone
