It's windy, it's pouring rain, Ma nature is flexing her might, and there's no football on. Perfect time to be a good employee and work, work, work. Until I got an email with some attachments from ACI Consolidated (Cory Armstrong's new shop)...

30ish foot LOA - Notice the squared front that offers lots of casting and fish fighting room (not some pointy bow only fit for an anchor roller). I think there might even end up being a tall rail system for securing folks who like casting to jumpers. We all should know how beneficial it is to hook one before fully sliding in and having them sound on us. Capt has a door for easy docking and getting out when the troll rod starts screaming.

Hinting at the walk around room and depth of the tunnel. A deep tunnel means less slapping (cats rarely pound).

Sliding cabin doors on both sides. JUMPERS, then have 1st mate hop out, grab the long jig stick sitting at the bow, and starting casting from 80 yards away.

Yup. Full walk around. Lots of room with a 9'6" beam. Back door is a slider too. And notice the twin in floor and deep fish boxes. They will be insulated from the body. There's gonna be plenty of room for the 50 gallon chovie home and crew on this dance floor. Tall gunnels to keep everyone secure while doing the dance and leaning over to gaff.

A better look at the deep sponsons. What wind chop???

I'd love to see it in person, they sure look it to me though. If not extruded, then a plate welded on rather than integrated into the hull. CT's old Hewes had extruded chines, they were line cutters until the edges were sanded smooth, even then sometimes they'd get a knick and cut again. It's a cheap way to get a chine, sure love his new NR!

I explained to cory about how several people commented on "blue line" after loosing fish. I pointed out the color of my bottom paint to them and asked if they wouldn't mind keeping the line OFF THE FRIGGING BOTTOM OF TR BOAT.

He understands the need for as smooth a bottom as feasible.

Same difference, it's a chine that is welded onto the hull rather than incorporated into the construction of the hull, much cheaper and easier of course, only my personal opinion but I don't like it. For a boat this nice and of obvious high quality, unlike another brand touted on here as competing with the best glass boats, this one most likely really does. That would be the only thing I would change, other than that I think this is outstanding!! In my opinion, it's the cheap and easy way to put a chine on the hull.

I don't believe I am explaining it well enough. The stringers are cut with the chine form. Plate is welded. 1/4" aluminum is too thick to form into a chine form. Every heavy plate aluminum boat is done like this. Kingfisher and similar used formed sides because they don't use thick material.. Here is my monohuill, this chine is obviously larger than the cat, but built in the exact same fashion. This is where I will give the nod to other builders. The chine is very wide, even towards the bow. This results in a very stable, but can be rough ride. Wooldridge, North River and others have a very narrow chine towards the bow that widens towards the stern, resulting in a softer ride.
