I used to love George’s burgers on the Clemente and then the Dana Pride! Best burger I ever had anywhere was on the Excel... Jake made a killer burger on a great kaiser roll for lunch on one trip.

I’m dating myself again… but the burgers George made were the bomb. When I was a kid, my dad would bring huge home grown red onions on the trips we fished on the Clemente for George to slice thick and put on the burgers. Still do a family charter every year on the Clemente in memory of my pop. Great memories.

Had a LR chef that started out of SD landings come visit and stay at my pad in the tropics. I have wanted to know the standard 1/2 day- 3/4 day boat burger secret. I now know :D

Had to ask being so deprived of them

What location? The location of those standard local trip boat burger pattys, that all taste the same?

Lets see what boat has the worst burger or food in general. That will be hard to do since everything on the water taste good.

I can't say I've ever had a bad burger on a sport-boat, but I think the best would have been on the "Queen of the Sea" on the way in from the morning half-day with my dad back in the sixties...

90% certain that "Queen of the Sea" galley girl Ms. Frances Kennedy holds women's IGFA world record for a 75# albacore on 20# line caught in the Catalina Channel on 8 November 1984.

And is there a better coffee than the one you're drinking sitting on the port corner dragging baits at sunrise?
You can always tell when the boat has switched over to making fresh water as the coffee has that slight brininess to it. I’ve had coffees in our coastal travels from well water that tastes the same. Takes me right back to the rail, just as you said.

Back in the days when the Islander was at 22nd street, they had the best burger. I always talked about that “Islander Burger” when talks about food came up.

Liberty has a real good burger and the Chubasco I did did before they moved out of SD and Dan and Pat made them, I think that were the two cooks names.
