this is a great thread... Owyn, i saved your number and will be in touch. we run a spearfishing/sportfishing 6-pack charter (BRINK Expeditions) and have been on the tuna for the last couple-ish months. look forward to learning more about your efforts and anything else we can about this amazing species being in our region, hopefully for a long time to come.

Geez! Fish populations are not even close to what they were decades ago.
A ten year ban on ALL nets would repopulate the seas like we've never seen before. Putting limits on the sport take by rod and reel does very little to help, particularly with pelagics. Scientific research should determine catch limits commercially as the sport take is almost negligible but shortsightedness by most nations will decimate populations until they are no longer commercially viable or at worst gone for good! Should we hold our breath?
