Fished earlier this week and was rewarded with bluefin tuna, yellowtail, and some bigger grade bonitos. Fishdope has been great in helping me with my trips and providing some great insight on whats going on out there. Chased yellows at the finger and headed off shore in the afternoon searching for tuna. Caught all fish under birds and just gotta be patient with finding them. Ended up 425/101 area for more active tuna as well as yellows and bonita. Landed this one on the iron, tady 45, and casted right in the middle of the foam. Incredible start to the season. Lost a big one after 1.5 half battle. Ill try to put the videos together soon. All was run and gun style fishing. Fish come up, birds start diving and you get 1 or 2 casts in then you do it again. Hope this helps those who are going out.

Gear wise: Main set up was 9 foot phenix abyss rod 909 matched with Trinidad 20 DC. (150yds spectra backing and maybe 125yd of 40lb izorline xxx mono. Just got this set up brand new as I was looking for a nice jig set up and this performed flawless. Other set ups were tranx hg with 9 foot `4-40 black diamond rod. Rod was a bit stiff but it casted the colt sniper well. Basically one surface and one colt and both hooked up equally.

Food wise, I made some spicy tuna as a filling which all you do is add sirracha and sesame oil and mix it all up. You can get the sushi wrapping thing on amazon. Filled it with some cut cucumbers, added unagi sauce on top and came out great. Then sashim with some ponzu topped with a jalepenos for the other dish as well. Cant get enough of this bluefin.

Also, thank you for all the kind words and comments from my previous post. Apologies that I could not reply back to everyone.

    Go get em
