San Diego Long Range Fishing at it's finest!

Oh, 3/4 day boat. I get so confused.

Isn't there a forum dedicated to Southern California Offshore Reports?

This is an amazing video (I don't know who shot it, or on which boat..).. but, it's pretty amazing that this grade is in our local waters and chasing poppers.. Maybe a fellow BD member was on this trip and can comment..

Don't be hatin'. Ya gotta admit, it's pretty damn awesome. I'd be happy to sit on bad ass BFT like that on a LR boat.
    Less driving = more fishing

We fished them on the way south yesterday. Very tough. One on a popper, one on a helium balloon. Two for the boat. We're headed down to try for some smaller grade Yellowfin on the beach south of Punta Eugenia and then to the Ridge to fish Yellows. Luck to all.

Fished them the other day on a private boat. Incredible show most of the day on huge BFTs foaming on small bait. Very frustrating to pull up to a foamer of 100-200+ pound BFTs only to watch them ignore everything you throw at them.

Yes, we saw several spots, not interested in us. They're on speed bait, gorging on it. Big schools of bait. Frustrating for sure. Just put the jig's in the water, we'll be at the spot in the morning, hoping for some biting fish.

I heard the seiners made their quota now. No more wrapping. This should help.

Second captain Gavin on the Pacific Queen took the video on the 6/3 trip. This was the day they got 2 fish over 200lbs. Both fish on the popper.
