Fished south kelp early, the cudas were biting in the morning. Caught about 10 in less than a hour, bait and irons. Moving to south Island around 10 am and the bluefin started popping. The first one I hooked bent open a 3/0 owner mutu light circle hook ( Farmed ), couple minutes later I hooked up again and landed a nice 35 lber. There nice grade fish when they bite. Nothing going at the middle ground.

Caught it on 25 lb flouro, 3/0 owner circle hook. Live bait hook.. It must have been a
    bigger fish than this one.
