I usually go out of LA and Ventura and go on 1/2 day to 2-day trips so whats a good blank (Preferably united composites) that is good for the islands like calicos, yellowtail, rockfishing, lingcod. I am willing to go to two rods.

You can't go wrong with a UC Monster or a Mega. I have a UC CE900 Monster and have put some hurt on yellowtails and even pulled so hard on a yellowtail in a seals mouth that it was pulling a parker 2120 for about 30 mins and eventually just got the head back.
