Bishop

On Monday I braved the heat and fished the Owens Valley in Bishop. Caught a handful of browns and one stocker rainbow on rooster tails and a couple of healthy Owens river bass. I also got buzzed by a couple of F 22s flying over the valley.

My wife and i got the shit scared out of us driving the RV up through owens valley awhile back by two F15s,they buzzed us barely 100' of the ground,lol.
Pretty cool but we were not expecting it when it happened!

We got buzzed by an F-18 from China Lake just below the Johnsondale Bridge on the upper Kern. It was so loud in that canyon, scared the crap out of the whole family.

My coworker was just in DV and the bad water run was happening and a F 18 buzzed the road 150’ up. He said all the runners where shaking their fist at the sky and yelling at the plane.

About a month ago I was fishing the upper kern for a handful of little ones , during the course of the day I saw F-18s F-16s F 15’s and a lone F 35 flying through the canyon, It was like watching top gun

Good job on the bass. I would target them when I got bored with the trout. If timing was right I would work backwater spots south of Collins Road right after higher flows ebbed. They'll hang around submerged sandbars at the edge of the deeper water waiting for an easy meal. They do love the right color Roostertails but I could never get them to eat any wood larger than a CD-5.

Collins hole! It’s no longer what it was after the fire that happened earlier in the year.
