On Monday I braved the heat and fished the Owens Valley in Bishop. Caught a handful of browns and one stocker rainbow on rooster tails and a couple of healthy Owens river bass. I also got buzzed by a couple of F 22s flying over the valley.
Collins hole! It’s no longer what it was after the fire that happened earlier in the year.Good job on the bass. I would target them when I got bored with the trout. If timing was right I would work backwater spots south of Collins Road right after higher flows ebbed. They'll hang around submerged sandbars at the edge of the deeper water waiting for an easy meal. They do love the right color Roostertails but I could never get them to eat any wood larger than a CD-5.
