It’s a tradition that I go fishing every year on my birthday.
And the fish gods always look upon me.
We launched out of shelter island around 4:30 am and got 2 scoops of deans.
Headed out to the 425 in beautiful seas.
Put out the trollers and quickly hooked a few bonitos.
Trolled down towards the upper hidden and found a nice paddy approx 10 miles south of the 425.
By 9:00 am we got limits for 3 people all on flyline.
We were tripled up many times. Most of the fish were big models. Got a few smaller ones too.
We got our limit then called out the gps numbers on channel 72 to help others out. Kelps we’re far and few between today.
A few boats showed up and rods were bent.
We ended up keeping 15 and catch and release a lot more.
Great trip for sure and tons of fun.
