My son Owen needed to break the yellowtail curse. He'd never caught one but had lost his last 4-5 before sealing the deal. I knew just what to do.

Checked FD and after checking out the trends, ran down south and looked for that strong temp break. Found it and a good paddy with a bird standing on it. What a day! Owen: 1 caught his first yellow 2 caught his first 20 pound yellow tail 3 caught his first Mexican limit of yellowtail and 4 caught his first yellowtail over 30#

This paddy was gold, had lots of fish on it, free swimmers everywhere but the big ones were the most aggressive and that was OK with us.

    Total 9 YT 20-30+ pounds

    Seas: calm
Water temp: hot bite in 70.5-71.5 next to a plume of water up to 77.6
Line: Flouro. Me 40# Owen 25#
Owen likes J hooks. I tried the circles with great success.

Nobody else out there in site. One stop shopping for 4 hours. Owen Killed it.

Excellent work... that shirt is now lucky, and he must wear it every time he goes. I have white, blood spattered shorts, aftco hoodies, and a white, blood spattered t-shirt that is my fishing "uniform".

I am reluctant to go into specifics as the owners of FD need to make a living off all the excellent information they provide. And the owners are pretty cool dudes too.
