    Limits of BFT.
20 miles straight off the tip of la jolla.
1.5 day on the Pegasus out of fisherman's landing. Awesome crew and boat.
Flat calm seas, no wind, no current, no drift.
Bite turned on at about 2pm and was on through sunset. Left the fish biting. One stop drift for about 6 hours. We metered a lot of fish but they did not start biting til after the fog cleared and the sun came out.
    40-60 lb BFT.
40lb line with small hooks. I used size 4. Bait was big sardines. Our bait sucked and did not swim. 1 in 30 baits seemed to run. If you had a runner it was instant bendo. The others just ran straight back under the boat. We had 4 private boaters run through our chum line and lines out of the back of the boat. Then they would stop right in back of us. Please stay further out than a 100 yards otherwise you just parked your boat on top of everyone's line lol. Newbie boaters.
Hope this info helps you guys get some.
Got to get back to bagging fish. If you need exact location pm me your cell and I text you my navionics screen shot. Don't know how to upload from my phone. Otherwise I will upload pics on Tuesday when I get back to work.
FYI I tried jigs, poppers, and flat falls in the night/morning but all these fish only wanted bait. Also caught two yellow fin out there early morning.

That the kind of report BD needs. Thin out the crowds in some spots.

Seen a couple of these reports lately.

If everyone reported catching a migratory fish catch location for that day instead of thinking it was a secret spot for a month, folks would be spread out a bit and catch more fish overall.

If your able to go out 3-4 days a week, forget what I wrote.

Number 4 or 4/0 hooks? Number 4 hook seems small for big sardines?

No. 4. Super small. I use gamakatsu hooks. If u corner hook the fish this works fine. I have caught bft over 100 lbs with these hooks w/out issues. The deckhands may look at you funny but these work.

We did see larger 100 lb fish boiling with these fish. So it would probably be a good idea to fish 40lb. 25 and 30 got bit right away but some of the guys in our boat were not able to get there fish in in the lighter line.
