Mark there is nothing like it . I had the 3 biggest fish on the boat all on popper and a smaller grade on bait . Everybody on the boat wished they had poppers with them lol .Awesome! Way to stay with the popper. I got a couple of YFT on my Yozuri Sashimi Bull last year on my Lexa 400 on a Phenix psw809h. Just so much fun seeing them come up and hit it. The misses are pretty spectacular too when they whack it and it goes flying.
Yep, its a reaction bite. You could use any old rope if you wanted probably.I use wire leader with my poppers, never needed flouro at all. Got plenty of tuna to hit it last year.
It swallowed the popper . Lucky he didn't chew through that Blackwater 50lb fluoroNicely done! I picked up a 400HSP this year as a backup to my Tranx, which got heavy use as my popper setup last year on the YFT. Nice to know the 400 stood up to the battle!
Quick question: The picture with the popper in it's mouth - was the popper that deep when the fish was landed or was that pic just for show? Inquiring minds.....
