I fish all of my daytime flatfalls and sniper like lures bridled (afraser method) with a loop of 200# braid attached to the nose and a single large circle hook 7/0 to 9/0 tied to 50/60# flouro.
I can cast them, jig them and they do not fall off. No glueing is needed.
Testing has shown that the hooks end up in the corner of the fishes mouth with a non offset circle when hit on the wind or sink.
I rig my night time FF with atleast a 12/0 if not larger circle on 4ft of 150 mono crimped etc the same way.
1 hook in the right place is all that is needed.

On those sniper rigs are you tying your line to straight to the hook as well?

The big advantage of this rigging is that you can use a much larger circle hook.. I doubt if the weight of the flat fall will dislodge the hook... We catch cows down south with 16 oz torpedos that don't pull the hooks.

It makes more sense to bridle rig your bft jigs like this and try to keep your line away from their teeth than any other way currently used.
Putting bigger better hooks or assist hooks on the bottom does not solve the problem of getting bit off.
I have seen 7 bft in a row hooked on standard rigged snipers and watched all 7 win either to bite offs or pulled hooks.
But all of the fish I have hooked with bridled jigs have died.
The weight of even a 500gram jig will not pull the circle hook out unless you really fuck something up. Use a 12/0 minimum sized circle hook on the heavy gear

The loop are simply a hollow spectra splice..

An 8 1/2 inch piece of spectra will make a 2 in loop..

Hollow to hollow to itself.. I thank the author of this thread for the suggestion.. super easy if you already know how to do a hollow/hollow splice

Jeff.

Pretty need to make your own loops unless you want to buy them.
I would be willing to make loops for sale. 3$ each with free shipping.

Call it what you like and tie it like Aaron (afraser) or make a loop like I was taught by a wiser fisherman than myself it doesn't matter.
The main point of this site is to share information and get fisherman to up up their odds of landing what they hook.
He shared it. I shared it somemore, why don't more of you guys try it out and post your results and see if you come home with more fish and jigs.
