We fished the Lower 9 this morning for rockfish limits then bounced outside towards the 302 @ 19 knots in search of BFT;tremendous amount of bait outside the 9 all the way to 3 miles inside the 302 where a sailboat trolling daisy chains called us in as he was seeing fish pop up in the area. We slowed down and started glassing the pond and sure enough spots of 15-30# BFT would show until we came within 200 yards and they would sound. We ran on 3-4 small foamers with no luck so we decided to stop and soak bait while slowly emptying our bait tank. By now there were 3-4 other boats in the area looking. 30 minutes into it a foamer popped up in our chum line 150 yards from us and our 3 baits on 20-25# line were right in the middle of it and the fish were coming our way until a weekend warrior saw the tornado and charged the foamer putting them down once again as he came within 200 yards. We hung around for another 20 minutes until our chum ran out and headed for home @ 1:15. We were at 32:30.4 117:29.7 20 miles 205 degrees Mission Bay. They are right on the edge of a color break where the water goes from clean green to blue on the west side of the break. Good Luck give it a shot!
