My 1st launch out of Dana Point and 1st time hunting Bluefin. Left Dana Point 5:30am. Got a nice scoop of sardines and anchovies. Headed towards the 267. Weather said to expect early winds, but it was super flat and no winds. There was overcast until we past the 267. Then it was sunny the rest of the morning. The water temp was colder 60-65 inside the 267, and got warmer 69-71 once we reached the 209 area. Lots of boats out there but no signs of Bluefin. Headed north east towards the 14 and found some paddy's with bait and some without, but none holding any game fish. Heading back to Dana Point, we got some super heavy fog about 15 miles off the coast. My boys 11 & 9 were frustrated as was the skipper with not locating any fish. Once we were about to put the boat on the trailer I heard some chatter on the radio, that all the BFT were on the slide today! Better luck next time...

Same area we stuck around the 209 with lots of foamers but no biters. 0 for 4 trips with same results. Weekdays ... fish were less boat shy, sat parked 100 Yrds away and they sink out at 300 ft. all near the big oil tanker
