Good day,
Just wondering if there is an easy way to salvage the aluminum reel seat and gimbal from a broken rod? Thanks in advance.
Cheers, BB

Could heat it and use pliers over rubber I suppose. Pull up towards the tip. Not sure what it was attached with but heat should help you get it to crack and move.

I got one off a broken rod recently with heat and channel locks with the jaws wrapped up with tape to protect the seat. It worked well for me.

"Easy" ? all depends on how good a job in glueing the seat and gimble on the builder did. You may be able to lock it in a vice (protected of course) heat it up and then hammer it out. Use a mandrel of some sort to use against the edges of the broken blank. Hard to describe. I just happened to have an old pheumatic jack handle that fir perfectly inside an ALPS seat I was trying to salvage and it hammered right off.
