I'm not a fan of hotdogs now, but I used to be..if you can find a place that makes Chicago style dogs with the peppers n stuff, those were the tastiest!

Check out The Linkery in North Park. Sometimes they make hot dogs. Give them a call.

Okay, i will refrain from saying anything stupid. ;)

I can't think of any here like that. Back on the east coast they had some dogs that had a reddish colored casing, and as you say, literally "snapped" when you bit into them. However, I don't think I have had any out here except for the mass-produced kind.

Chicago On a Bun? never been there but the reviews are good..maybe someone else can chime in on that place..

Ok, i just got info from my buddy - the head sausage maker at The Linkery in North Park. Seriously, he cures all their meats. They are currently not making any hot dogs. But he suggested checking out Homegrown Meats in LaJolla.

I'm sure the linkery would make some dogs if there were enough people who wanted them. they do have homemade sausages that change every day.

it's run/owned by friends of mine.
