I'm assuming you replaced the hooks on your XRap Subwalker. How did you rerig it? Trebles? Singles?

I replace the hooks with slightly over sized owner 4x trebles and heavy hyper wire slit rings. I don’t remember the exact hook size but it’s one or two sizes up from the stock hooks.

Wow what an Epic Sunday you guys had and to think i was only a couple of miles away fishing the Ben Weston area for yellas!! Been stoked for you guys but sick to my stomach for a week now, so close but yet so far... Heard a report of the tuna sightings on the Friday before. A friend fished that whole area Saturday for nada so i told myself this bunch of fish headed back behind SCI where they must have come from so lets look for paddies on the way over and then spend the day fishing the whole back side east to west. Wrong again!! Dammitt, I had a tank full of macs and big sardines from Nachos 4am that morning AND 4 gaffs on the boat!!
Great report Erik and Jimmy! Classic uh oh not a 60 pounder. Always a Next time!!
    Keep those lines tight!!

    Erik,
You appear as crazy as I am fishing those tuna that far offshore on that bay boat. I wasn't sure if you were making fun of me when you put me on the cover of BD years ago with my wahoo, stating "It’s official, there are enough wahoo in our local waters for fishermen to target them. " After seeing your video post I realize it was a complement. Nevertheless, they should put you on the cover for that report. I am heading out tomorrow for a second over-nighter at San Clemente Island, the first was a success when a 212 lbs (taped) bluefin ate a giant squid down 2-300 feet on heavy tackle. We made short work of him but I paid the price when he pulled the gaff out of my hand and the rope pulled through my hands down to the bone, stuck in the bite of said rope, we got some slack I jumped out and then we pulled the fish into additional gaffing distance. Hand is healed and I am ready for another try. Sweet post, inspires confidence there are still plenty of fish out there.
