I have 290 yards of tight packed 50lb J-Braid on my 463P. I dont buy into Maxquatro rating. To my knowledge, no MFG had come up with a new weave or material that is thinner and stronger. I've watched 65 Max snap at 40-50lbs MANY times.

    But that's just my $0.02

I prefer smooth 8 carrier braids like 832 and PP Slick 8, they are rounder and cast better. Berkley Professional Grade is one of the strongest by diameter, the 30lb breaks at 60lb. The 832 and Slick 8 broke at 42lbs and 47lbs respectively.

    See test results here: http://www.sportfishingmag.com/gallery/gear/2014/11/line-test

Just filled my Komodo KDS-463P, loaded it up with 400 yards of JB Line One spectra 40#. Now I'll have room for a decent top shot, of either 20, 30 or 40#. It's brand new, hoping to get me a wahoo on it as my first fish on it.

The Berkley Pro Spec braid in 50lb test is a good option for the Komodo 463s and 471s if you want 300yds of line on the reel.

I want my Komodo 364 for tug-o-war fishing for big cabrillas (leopard groupers) so I plan to setup mine just like the musky boys with heavy braid, but still not sure if I better off using 65# JB hollow or 80# spiderbraid stealth

Trying Tasline on a 364 and should get 330 of 30#. A super thin true 8 ply braid that tests out at 49#(Paulus line test) and is white. Expensive but ticks all the other boxes.

    Lifted from sales add

Tasline Elite White is the top end braid manufactured by Tasline in New Zealand, from the finest Spectra fibers available through Honeywell in the USA.
Except for the 15lb, all Elite White is pure 8 strand, with no coatings or additives, leaving it silky smooth and supple for improved casting distance and extreme fishing like popping and jigging for trophy fish. Together with a unique heat treatment process developed by Tasline, this braid is tweaked to optimum performance. Manufactured and tested in small batches, to make sure Tasline Elite White is the best braid available.

Independent tests show with Tasline Elite White you will get the best of both worlds.
Smaller diameters to get more line on your reel and higher breaking strains for those trophy fish.

I can get 300yds of 50lb Sufix 832 onto my Komodo 471SS's. 832 is a bit thicker then other 50lb braids, so you should have no trouble getting 300yds on a Komodo 471SS.

But, if you want a really thin, yet strong braided line, get Berkley Pro Spec braid.

The Komodo 471SS will hold just over 250yds of Sufix 832.

I use Tackle Industries musky rods with my Komodos; they work for just about everything that swims in FW and anything that swims in SWthat you could use a Komodo to catch; and Komodos can handle catching a lot.
