I wonder if one of the local hotels has an infestation and passengers that stay there the night before their trips are bringing the bugs onto the boats?

I was eaten alive by those bed bugs on PQ last year. (bunk #54)
And then I found a couple of dead bugs at the corner of the bunk near by the pillow.
She might be one of the best tuna fishing boats in SD. But I won't fish that boat again.
It was a fucking terrible experience.

I called down to one of landings in San Diego harbor. I won’t mention which one because it would not be fair to mention their name. I brought up my concern of bed bugs and what their cleaning policy was. They said all their boats are sterilized, disinfected, and all linen completely changed. They said it was the other landing that had an issue. I asked him the name of the boat. He said it was “The Sea Scat”. After I hung up I never recalled a fishing boat by that name and felt like he was jerking me around .....Jughead.....

So..............what landing jerked you around? I don't know of any Landing that sterilizes and disinfects all bunks after every trip. So there's two BS's right there. And the only boats that have linen are the long range boats.

True, last time I read a post about worms in tuna just before dinner I spit out a big bite of tuna belly burrito all over the kitchen table when I could have sworn I saw a wiggle in it. Tore the burrito apart, no worms and ruined my meal. Now this...

Good news is that bug season is just around the corner. Fish during the day and trap bugs at night.

Does anyone know if Promar makes a 1 inch hoop net?

"Bed bugs like to travel and are good hitchhikers. They will hide in suitcases, boxes and shoes to be near a food supply. They are elusive, nocturnal creatures. They can hide behind baseboards and in cracks, crevices, and folded areas of beds, bedding and adjacent furniture, especially mattresses and box springs. Bed bugs can also hide in electrical switchplates, picture frames, wallpaper and nearly anywhere inside a home, car, bus, or other shelter. Bed bugs usually come out at night for a blood meal. However, they are opportunistic insects and can take a blood meal during the day, especially in heavily-infested areas. Bed bugs usually require 5-10 minutes to engorge with blood. After feeding, they move to secluded places and hide for 5-10 days. During this time in the bed bug life cycle, they do not feed but instead digest their meal, mate, and lay eggs.

    Habitat
So where do bed bugs live? Bed Bugs like to hide in small cracks and crevices close to a human environment. They can be found behind baseboards, wallpaper, upholstery, and in furniture crevices. Bed bugs are also known to survive in temporary or alternative habitats, such as backpacks and under the seats in cars, busses and trains.

    Threats
Although bed bugs can dine on any warm-blooded animal, they primarily dine on humans. Bed bugs do not transmit diseases, but their bites can become red, itchy welts."

Such a self inflicted injury to bring them into your home I have a friend that hired two separate Bed Bug Specialist only to have to tent his 2 Million Dollar house buy all new beds and then to find out later that that Contractor had broken 30 roof tiles and damaged the Tar Paper Underlayment.

You have to strip down in the garage or outside and wash and spray everything when Sleeping Around and Sharing a Bed with Strangers I got Crabs one time!
