Beautiful!

I was thinking about buckets but I'm going to cut my seat down instead, so it is only about 1\3 to 3\4 as long so there is a opening to walk thru in front of the ladder. I'm reupholstering any way, that's my plan. I've only seen it a couple times but I think I like it.

Is there anyone left running an old (1970 or so) OMC electric shift outdrive? I'm about the replace the second broken shift spring and looking for the reason I'm breaking them. I dropped a no frills 350 crate engine in her and have put about 100 almost all trolling miles on since then. I think the motor puts out about 250HP and I was told since the original was listed at 233, my increase in power or torque may be the reason the spring is breaking. Typical issues that break the spring, that I'm aware of are inconsistent 12v supply causing it to jump in and out and back into gear under way, idle above 600rpm, something to do with stainless props, (mines aluminum). All of these things I've checked off the list.
If anyone is aware of something I may be missing or knows about that particular OD handling over 233hp I'd love to know.

I recommend against any boat with an electric shift OMC od.

I’ve been looking at your forum for a while and learn a lot from all your post, but I’m kinda new at this posting thing. I have a 1979 24’ Flybridge diesel and came across a good fortune of another 24’ flybridge that I have no time take unless I was retired. It’s enough work just maintaining and restoring the one I have. So I want to pass this boat onto someone else in the Skipjack family that wants a free project/parts boat. Now remember this boat will take a little work just to get it out of this yard. It’s been sitting 15+ years and they said it was running when parked. It’s in San Clemente. This will make a good project for someone with more time then myself. I surveyed the boat and looks like everything is there, but it will need a lot of TLC to restore it. Has a Volvo Penta 350. OMC outdrive. Most likely Late 70’s to early 80’s. Please let me know if interested and I will try and post some pictures as well.

Hi Manual
I would have been interested in some parts as well. But this lady wanted the entire boat removed. I’m not sure if it’s still there or not. They were trying to sell the house. This was last year. If I find out I will repost.

I have a 74’ skipjack fly bridge with a new to me mercury MPI 5.0
Wish I would have gone with the 5.7 but can’t cry over spilt milk.
I decided it was time to do some upgrades
Did all the work myself for the deck and upholstery and some other things
Fiberglass - gel coated deck
New self bailing deck with non- skid
New bildge
New bait pump
Blower
all new “tined” marine wirring
new dash with new rocker panel marine grade switches
New automatic bildge pump
New switch panels in cabin
Inverter
New throttle cables ,
also widened engine cover hatch so two people can stand on top of it now and comfortablely fish
New cockpit coming pads
New upholstery in cabin
New bed upholstery as well
Also I got rid of the useless deck hatches that I cracked a rib on 1 time because it wasn’t fully latched.
and I sealed engine compartment so there is no way water can get into engine compartment.
New Bennet trim tabs and electronic trim tab switch indicator.
Having fuel management system put in.
2 scoop pacific edge bait tank fiberglass
