This is what I keep telling our host. They keep firing back that it's a DNS problem not on our network :(.
With others getting it fixed by eliminating their routers/switches and plugging direct to the modems and others not successful doing this I haven't found one single fix for everyone yet.

Comcast assigns IP addresses based on the MAC address of your device. Change the device or MAC address, you get a different IP. Some routers enable you to change it, any apple device does not.

I don't know what somebody did, but finally after nearly two weeks it's working as normal again. :appl:

Only thing I did notice is that it would not let me Multi Quote.

I know this was a royal pain in the ass, so for those involved in trying to get this fixed, and to whoever fixed it as well as those who busted ass trying...... Thanks!!

Gremlin in the load script somewhere. It just did it to me. It has been random but the one constant everytime is a different screen appears upon successsful access, provided the access is awarded/granted. Allowable/assigned priveledges?, Security ID perhaps?, dependant on the provider?

    Just thinking out loud.

Doesn't explain the timeouts on trace from the server to the user. What about having it work on one network but not on another?

We are working on our development server for the new upgrade that came out. Making sure all the custom stuff works before we upgrade live and start the whole buggy process over again :D.

Analogy: Land line vice cell phone. You talk to someone constantly on the cell, they now recognize your voice, out of the clear blue sky, you call from a land line, when they answer, you say something, thay ask "who is this?" what just happened? That said, do all providers speak on the same platform? Not to be elementary here... You know better than I. Again, just thinking out of the box.

The odd part is the randomness of it. I had this happening in a software application I was working once, and believe it or not, the weak link was eventually discovered in the signal strength. Hit or miss. Bizarre to say the least. Funny thing is, we could never replicate it.

    Good luck.

P.S. As others have mentioned, it's BD only. No others. Have fun with that! (Insert smiley).

So I have a question for some of you other guys who like me were unable to navigate the site recently.

Just curious, but does anybody else ever notice their computer starting to work hard at times (drives or whatever the hell you want to call it suddenly starting up and spinning). I'm talking about this happening at random times while viewing the site, to where you will suddenly hear your computer start to fire up and make the sound of spinning and working hard..... then it will shut back down for a short while and eventually fire back up again and then shut back down...... anybody else have this happening, and is it even something to be concerned about??

I only ask this because it's always felt as though when that has happened long ago in the past, it's as if something or somebody is hacking into the system???....... it's a little bit unnerving, and many months back I was told by some computer guru type guys at work, that it's usually not a good sign when you hear that happening. I've had mine do this twice just while typing this....... whoops, lets make that 3 times, as it just fired up again right now! Is there any truth to what I've been told about this?
