On the other hand, the sailfish bite, which had been excellent, had slowed down, but the dorado catches had provided terrific action for the few anglers that were fishing. The inshore fishing is very good for roosterfish when the surf settles down enough to allow boats to get in close. Unsettled weather has impacted both inshore and offshore fishing causing port closures and some very windy and rough days. Many of the boats are being taken from the water for annual maintenance projects and will be out until early October.
