Just returned from a decent trip to BOLA. Travel down was easy, the new paved road past Gonzaga is great. No issues at any of the check points, although returning on Saturday 8-22 it looked like the authorities were doing temperature checks on people south bound outside of San Felipe. Fished Tuesday the 18th on a private boat and just outside the marina after making bait we ran into a school of Amber jack 30-35lbs on the surface. Caught 2 nice ones on the colt sniper. Wednesday fished with Joel Jr. He was a pleasure to fish with and we caught all the 15-20lb yellowtail you wanted. Thursday fished with Enrique Daggett scored 2 small Dorado trolling purple feathers, Trolling inside by Las Animas water temp between 80-81. From there hit a few high spots for some better grade yellows fishing 180-250 feet on the dropper loop and live bait. Friday fished with Enrique again conditions not so favorable with wind and high seas from remnants of tropical storm Genevieve. We were able to pick up some nice leopard grouper a.k.a. Cabrilla. All in all good trip, caught a nice variety of fish and always a good time with Enrique.
