WE were all surprised when the yellowtail showed up here over a month early but fishing has been spotty. There has been a nice swell in Asuncion the last week which was great for the annual surf tournament but has muddied up the water here making fishing a challenge. Anglers are hoping the water clears up a bit for the annual fishing tournament here on Sunday as part of our Traditional Fiestas...a 5 day party! But Capt.Juan, Surfdoc and Faustino went in search of bigger fish a couple days ago and scored big time...lots of nice quality 20-30 lb fish caught on the troll...which we fed the masses sashimi, seared YT, smoked some and gave a bunch away. So knowing we would probably get some nice tail...me, my daughter Sirena, grandson Izaak and an amigo sand castle Mike took to the glassy seas to haul in some fish. Sirena is hooked for good now on fishing and cant wait for tuna season! and little Izaak has been practicing reeling too...he kept saying...come on baby to the fish! But most of the time he just wanted to be the captain! it was my first nice YT of the season and was pretty proud of it! little Izaak is fascinated with how fish feel and just couldnt keep his hands off the fish.
