    yeah, I heard the CG calls as well. Was hoping there would be a better outcome but with a 2 day overdue notice didn't expect much. Sad day.

    Yeah - Except without the suffering in the water for an hour hoping some boat may come close enough to help. Drowning is not exactly the best way to go....

    How about, you're 105 yrs old, you just reeled in the world record Tyee, you toast all your children/grandkids/great-grand-kids with a shot of the finest scotch. A whale surfaces next to the boat and winks at you, sprays you with nectar from the sea. You slowly slip away into the happiest place imaginable??? Instead of sheer suffering and terror??

    Hope Mr. Swanson did not suffer too much...RIP

    Probably not a lot of suffering, and definitely unlikely he lasted an hour in this waters.... Hypothermia, shock, and bye bye..... probably a lot worse ways to go for sure.....

    It’s tragic, but he was doing what he loved and likely didn’t suffer as much as you are envisioning...
