God I love seeing this post but it kills me that my trip this year with the Aztec went bust. That's why its called fishing right, right. Went out same Sat. as Day at the Docks. Justin is awesome fishermans knows the Bluefin game he had us all ready heavy rigs all set to go. My luck for the year..... Captain Greg picks my day for his one of 3 day's off all Season. expetivives XXXX Dont know if he would have found them or not and had a nice enough stand in Capt. but jeez its painful driving around the same water all day to no avail. 3 small yellowfin first stop in the morning was our count for the day. Hope I get a shot next year with these fish and Captain Greg. Boat and bunks set up well, good food, good bait well set up. Will be looking for another shot next year on the Aztec hope the fish show up ! Congrats my friend on an Epic Day you will be fortunate to repeat, you Killed em !!!
Looking at going next weekend. What's everyone using for gear?
I’m taking the following tonight:
Mak10 SEa on a phd700xh 40-50# for yellowfin just Incase,
Andros 16a on a phd760x2h for 60#
Mak16SEa on a UC 76 Raptor 80#
Mak16SEa on a phd700x3h 100#
If its anything like the trip I just got off on the Aztec, I would not go below 80. Flyline dean on 100# got bit all day.
This is historical! There has never been better fishing with catching of giant fish in the fishing history of California? Yet all the posts are pissing about selling bass reels and how to polish gas caps on their Edsel's. Every real fisherman should be posting how to get out and catch one of these beauties. BTW we go out on Tuesday!
Nice load of big fish. Epic. Glad you had a great trip.
Was on the Pac Voy just below you guys. It was nuts out there! Glad to see you guys whacked them good too!
