Was just reading through WON and there was an article out on Avet HXJ 3-speed for 2018. Also noticed it on Avet's site now. Has anyone checked it out? I know a few members were asking for this so here it is!

pic is incorrect. all avet 3/s reels have standard T-handle.

As far as I can tell the only HX reels that come standard with a T-handle are the HXW Raptors. 2 and 3 speed.

But the specs on the Avet site say T-Bar on the HXJ 3-speed. I think they just have the specs wrong on their site.

    Specification
    Speed 3-Speed LINE CLASS 50 -100 lb.
Jerry Brown - Line One Braid 80 lbs - 300 Yards
Maximum Drag (lbs.) Strike: 40 - Full: 50
    Inches Per Crank H - 47" - L - 17" Harness Lugs Yes Reversible
    Spool Width (in.) 3 - 1/2" Gear Ratio H - 5.4:1 /M - 2.4:1 / L - 1.3:1
Crank Handle Length 3-3/8" T-bar Knob
    Reel Diameter (in.)
    3 - 3/8"
    Weight (oz.) 27.0000 Frame MC

how about that! if ever a reel series intuitively required a power handle the hx3/s would be it. i stand corrected- think avet should too?

Nice reel for sure, but realistically speaking, any fish big enough to require a 3 spd.. reel will also require more line than the HXJ can hold.

Could someone tell me, where can you go to get an upgraded T-handle?

    Thanks,
    Doug

You have to replace the arm too, you can’t just swap the handles. If you call Avet directly they will make sure you get everything you need to swap it for the T.
