What connection knot did you use?
It was awhile ago, but I'm pretty sure I was using a pre-rigged jig that had crimped connections to the jig and a swivel. I probably just used a single 9-turn uni from the braid to the other side of the swivel. I'm sure there are better knots to use, but I've never had one fail. Still use uni-to-uni for braid to mono, too, as long as the lines are similar diameter. YMMV.

If I was tying a connection between 80# braid and 130 flouro, I'd probably have asked a crew member for help. That's not a connection I've done often enough to feel confident about it, since the flouro is huge compared to the braid. Deckies on those boats can do it in their sleep, though.

I got a 128# BFT with my HXW Raptor/PCH 741xxxh and a 300gm glow flat fall jig on my 8 day last month.

You think the HX Raptor is adequate?

I think I’d have landed it on my HX Raptor too. I have 80# braid with a 60# top shot. At night I’d go with a 80# top shot. My HXW has 100# braid with a 100# topshot.
