I'm posting the following on behalf of Bob Franko the President of the Coastside Fishing Club in Northern California. Please take a few minutes to read this, and if you feel compelled take a few more minutes and send your letter of support. You want your recreational fishing voice(s) heard then click the link; otherwise start looking to take up a new sport. If you think the folks making the closures are not coming to Sandy Eggo/Lo-Cal you are kidding yourselves and saddly mistaken. You don't have an island for them to take away, but they don't care. Some of your coastline has been marked and targeted, so put down your beer bottles, drop your brain darts, and leave the pills on the table. Please get your $#!+ together quickly! Thank You! John. Parker 2320 'FloMar'. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was but a few years ago I came to this community an asked for your help getting Darrell Ticehurst appointed to the PFMC. You brought it home then, and we all know the excellent fruit that produced. Now we need your help again. Dan Wolford has made the short list for the seat on the PFMC being vacated by Roger Thomas, who has long been a voice for our recreational community on the Council. The Governor submitted only 3 of the 6 original candidates to the Federal level. Dan and two commercial fishermen have made the final cut. So if we are to maintain a recreational presence on the Council, Dan is the only acceptable candidate. This position is one of only 14 voting seats that control the federally managed fisheries on the West Coast. I can't tell you how important it is that this seat continues to speak for recreational fishermen. So once again, I'm asking you to utilize this link provided by ASA to send this pre-written letter of support for Dan. It will take all of about 60 seconds. Keep America Fishing -- Pacific Fishery Management Council Recreational Fishing Seat If you are so inclined, it would be great to also write a personal note. If you do, it should be sent to: Dr. William T. Hogarth Director, National Marine Fisheries Service National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration 1315 East West Highway Silver Spring, MD 20910 Or to his e-mail at bill.hogarth@noaa.gov I am also asking that you post or carry this request to other boards where permitted. Dan is being supported by nearly all of the major recreational political organizations, but itâs important that Washington DC hears from all the recreational clubs in California. This is huge so please take the time. Respectfully Bob Franko -------------------- Thanks for your club support. Our fishery is too important not to care. Bob Franko
