Atd 50 clicker disengaging

Fighting a big shark today with my atd50 I noticed under 20-30 pounds of drag with the rod bent and the line peeling off slowly like a tug of war situation the clicker would turn itself off? Why would it do this? It happened maybe 3 times. I did not bump into it.

    Either or both the clicker spring and clicker tongue are worn and should be replaced. But you should know that clickers are not designed to be left on. It's an alarm to wake you when a fish strikes. Turn it off as soon as possible.

    The reel is pretty new, not sure if it just needs adjustment from the factory
