Just got a hold of a used ATD 12T and want to get the drags, dogs, and gears all replaced for brand new for a 16 day I have this winter. Can never trust someone else's maintenance. Does anyone know how much I will be looking at tho have these three components replaced?

    Thanks

    Jake

If you are going to replace the gears, look into making it a Super 12 with the gears from a 30. I had one that I use LR for several years. Caught some really large fish on that reel.

You can hot rod the hell outa that reel.
The big button shifter is awesome. Cal

And they won’t do anything or replace anything that it doesn’t really need.
For example, the drag washers on that reel will clean up very easily and when they grease them it’ll be like buttah. Enjoy, catch a fatty!

You should send the reel to us for service. The service package for an ATD is $50.00. Odds are you won't need all the items you mentioned replaced. If the drags or dogs need replacing that and any bearings would be covered.

If money is no object send it to Cal and he can build you a hot rod. i have never had a single problem with my 12. I have had mine for about 8 years and only service it once a year before i start fishing it. I fish 130# spectra with 80-100 topshot. iI have a 30 and a 50 but fish the stock 12 most of the time.
