Saltwater Area 9 and 10

Lights out fishing for our group, landed 19 in 2 hours from 4am to 6 when we had to go to work. All good hatchery fish to 27#. Only had 3 without fins so we left without a limit. Big Nate released was a giant close to 40 but never bothered a net once we seen the high fin, others were all high teens to mid 20’s.

This new to me spot is pretty flawless. Used to park at Jeff head but the amount of pressure pushed us out. Fishing just north at “the cabana pool house”. Way better

Fished Jeff Head for a couple hours this morning. Pulled out one good king 16# at 7:00 and a pair of bait size resi coho.

That’s truly a great fish for JH. Really don’t see many that are north of 12 (on a scale) in MA10. Pics do that fish justice. 👍

How do you guys tell by just looking at it? Is it because of the size? Do some hatcheries pump out bigger fish?

Mainly because of where they caught the fish.... Suquamish hatchery and Gorst Creek hatchery are just around the corner.... could be a south sound fish too.

Were just guessing, might be a frazer river fish for all we know.

Timing for me, usually the green river fish and some south sound fish are first to arrive and the south sound fish were fast and furious a few weeks ago.

There is definitely a king hole. Have it pinpointed down to a 100 yard stretch where it's focus time every pass. Then we aimlessly wander around searching for life for 30 min before we come back and hit it again.

Yeah, I get that. I am familiar with Kai's boat and was curious how long the trip takes him. I know for me it would be 45-60 minutes unless it was very smooth water. Haven't been up there yet so just curious to learn more. Thanks.

It takes me a bit over 30 minutes from Elliot Bay Marina. Unless it was like yesterday morning with the fog. The bigger issue is the gas. Probably 35 gallons for round trip plus trolling.
