Sweet!Fished MCB Thurs/Fri with my father. It was some of the best fishing I have ever seen! Thursday we hooked 6 adults, lost one, released 3 unclipped and bonked 2, back at the ramp at 8AM. Friday we hooked 2 and bonked them both on our first troll, back at the ramp at 6AM. Both days there were nets out everywhere and at any given time someone was fighting a fish next to you. There were less boats Friday but still plenty. I would not be shocked if the quota for A9 got filled in this first 3 days.
Porpoises show up in even-numbered years also, when there are no pink slimy rats running. They typically feed on the same bait schools as the salmon do, with a preference for herring (over anchovies or candlefish). They seem to show up when the pinks start to flow in and leave as soon as the run ends.
