Are there still yellows hanging out around the Muscle Farms?

Not a lot of info/reports on this out right now. I know the company went bankrupt but what happened to the farm? Abandoned? Removed? Drove by it last weekend and theres still lots of bouys up im just not sure what the structure is looking like under the water there. Like most of us who haven't caught a pelagic yet this year I'm totally desperate to catch something that pulls drag and doesn't explode on the way up so i might have to go take a look.

the buoys would act like FAB (Fish Aggregation Buoys).

Before all the bouys were removed there was a handful of guys that knew their shit and would smash it out there but as above stated if you get lucky enough to hook one it’ll be about a 15 second fight . I got them on the troll a couple of times quite a few years back when they were going bonkers 3 miles off the break wall, it got so easy we decided to go over to the muscle farm and fish.

Isn't that fun part of fishing? No different than when you fish them along the kelp or reefs.

Like yo yo fishing on a reef. Gotta lock down the drag and pull hard

Heavy line 50lb and a tight ass drag. Make sure you’ve got great knots and pull hard. Just like fishing any rock pile for yellows. Pull

been lucky enough to pull two yellows out of the mussel farm out of many attempts... not impossible but its gonna take some work

You fish that area like the guys fish the oil rigs in the gulf. The moment you hook up, you fire up the boat and just hold on while dragging the fish away from the structure. Once far enough away, you stop the boat and fight the fish.
