Yes, it's a deal breaker for me. I don't know any of the other people or crew on a boat well enough to trust them with the health of my family. I know two people who have had COVID-19 (one a 23 year old friend of my son). Both of those people died.

RodRage has the right idea.

No, I'd wear one if required but would rather not. Hopefully by my 10 day at the end of Sept it won't be an issue.

Neck buffs do not filter virus particles.. they are way too porus..
Face masks don't work that well either. Even N95 masks won't filter out everything. Some people on here say they are worthless and won't wear them. I say they help.

Just a nonscientific thought, but If someone were to suck on a Cough Drop, any flavor, and talk to someone 6 feet away, you could probably smell his breath. Then put on a Neck Buff or face mask. What do you think will be the result. I don't think you will be able to smell his breath that well.

If the Cough Drop doesn't work, try some Kimchi, or any other fermented vegetable. That will work for sure. You could probably stand 20 feet away and smell ones breath.

Just consider ones breath as Virus particles.

Neither does an N95 stop Covid 19, so your point is?????
Tell me what makes you say this. If ineffective, why do front line health care workers use these as well as full face shields?

I’ll give you this. Those thin gaiter/buff deals might be good at sun protection, but can’t be worth much either preventing the wearer from spreading droplets or protecting from them.

no-one wants to enforce a required mask rule...so masks wont be worn over face---they will dangle around your neck.

If u look just a little u can find studies that claim every thought and idea about this virus is right and wrong....wild..
Yeah. Information needs to be scrutinized carefully, fact checking is amazing at catching the lies being spread.

If conditions are placed on our trips, whether 1/2 day or 8 day, it will come from the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Let’s hope they concur with authorities to the north, from San Francisco down to Dana Landing. I’m test driving a couple of masks for extended wear, both cloth and lightweight surgical.

I need to decide go/no go on a trip scheduled for departure on June 15. I’m leaning towards cancellation and rolling the deposit forward to one of the next trips, August or October.

Hope to read good news after the Tuesday meeting.

No, but common sense will prevail after the first day for most people:

Most fishing is done drifting with the wind in your face, the Government believes you will still catch Covid 19 that way, but most people know better.

Fishing on stern on the anchor with the wind at your back. The Government believes you will still catch Covid 19, but most people know better.

Fishing in the bow with no one around, the Government believes will will catch Covid 19, but most people know better.

Having a deck hand come close to gaff your fish, good time to wear a mask.

Stay outside of the galley and maintain distance, The Government believes you can still catch Covid 19, but most people know better.

No.I have my own boat.I can fish from shore.I don't wear a mask.Claiming you really don't love fishing if you won't wear a mask is kind of stupid.
You idiot. You completely ignored the question about being required to wear a mask on someone else's boat.

This question is about SD Long Range Fishing on Long Range Fishing Boats. So go ahead and type a response about you fishing on your boat or from the shore.

If Lori sends me an email telling me I have to wear a mask or knock gaitor I will. I think it's pointless like lipstick on a pig but if that's what it takes so be it

I do mask fit tests a lot nowadays.
I had to get fitted myself.
I used one respirator n-95 didn't work.
Bridge of nose didn't seal.
Tried a duckbill n-95 and that one worked.
Painters respirator with correct filters are the best.

Hypocapnia..... Look it up. It’s real and you can die from it... basically rebreathing your own CO2 for too long, damages your organs. No mask for me...Masks are for cowards who won’t accept the law of natural selection..... if it’s your time.......it’s your time.... just live your life...... or don’t... and hide at home. I’d rather not fish than bend to the will of the weak minded and spineless who think they can impose their shit on others....

Was just fishing charter in SF, they only allowed less people on the boat. Masks had to be worn getting in out of harbor but after that on the open water it was personal choice. Landed some fat chinook! Singed up with my kids to hit the coronados Wednesday morning!!!
I’m a nurse and have wear a mask 24-7, it literally means nothing to me when fishing is my real passion, just let us on the water damnit. Most of us are willing to do what it takes and mask chaos will pass soon.
