Yep, they definitely get bit. Killer for calico too, and if there's cuda around they'll be all over it too.

A guy on a boat yesterday used one. It was a slow day but he got bit at least once.....didn't stick it.

You gotta have the waxwing rod, reel, etc. , for it to work properly!

I've slow trolled them at Catalina, have caught small yellowtail, bonitas, and Calicos. It's fun watching them get blown up.

They work. I like using the mint and sand eel color for YT but for the most part it seems like they are keyed in on the action of the jig. If I had a choice I would rather throw a kicker 25 lite then a waxwing
