Anyone around from the Coachella Valley that fishes? Not sure if this is the right area to post, if not please guide me. I gave up salt 12 years ago, however started agin last year. Most the guys I used to fish with have either perished or have other issues that prevent them from going. I Planned two trips last year. One I needed up with over a hundred pounds of meat and the other got canceled because of covid. A little bit about me. I have my own gear, truck etc.., so no need for that. I went on my last trip by myself, which doesn't bother me, as I'm easy going. Let me know.

Used to live there many years ago. Graduated from Coachella Valley High, went to College of the Desert. I probably wouldn't recognize anything about it now.

I'm not in Coachella but I'm in Orange County and I love fishing. I still haven't done a long range trip but if you ever want a buddy to fish with for 3/4 to 1.5 day that's usually what I do

    I'm here/there.
Don't do long range. My cousin ruined that for me in his own way.
I used to deliver boats down to mex ports with him. He was a captain then.
More of a 2 day kind of fisherman on sport boats.
Have a 2310 Parker for local stuff but haven't been into it last few seasons.
Fish trout in the Sierras when open more lately.

Lol! My aunt lived here in the 80's! Hated it said I'd never live here. The average age at that time was 200 years old. I'm from SD, take a kid from the beach and put him in 120 degree weather, no thanks! A lot has changed here, and I made its home.

Thanks for responding. I haven't done more the a 2.5 in the last 12 years. My career absorbed it. Never have stopped fishing, just had to adjust to times. Sorry if your cousin ruined things for you. I've had similar experiences. Nevertheless, never stopped fishing. It's my passion, self reprieve, and my serene time. I'm easy going, and although catching fish is awesome, watching someone else catching is more important. If you want to send me a PM, maybe we can connect.

I'm reasonably certain I wouldn't recognize anything anymore. Used to drive from Palm Desert to Indio and it was mostly desert...probably one solid house by now. When I'd head down to the sea to hunt ducks at 0'dark thirty there wouldn't be a car on the road, and the only radio station I could get was Mexican music. Couldn't understand it, but liked it anyway. Back in those days the Salton Sea was still full of life, and man did we catch a LOT of nice corvina. Those were good days.
