Anyone else have feedback on the GUSA 80 Monster? The thread drifted a bit
Hey CK Thanks man! good to know. That is exactly my plan: good all around #40 rod. Can't wait to hang something on it. Tight LinesHey Jim,
The US80Monster is a 40lb max rod I think. It's great for fishing iron or bait it's an all around rod. I fish our BT65s and EX7 light jigs on it but its also my go to 40lb bait rod when fishing live squid or Dines. I only fish 40lb on it.
Hope this helps
How would a Trinidad 20 look on itI didn't mean to get the 8'versions. I had a 900L and loved that too. I got rid of it because I like the 900 Monster 10X more and didn't see a need for the Calstar at that point.
You really need to go pull on some sticks. That's the only way your going to find what you like. Even then, it's not perfect because your not able to throw an iron with it to get the actual feel. The best way IMO is to find people with the sticks your looking at and ask them to use it to get the true actual feel. If you and I were on a boat together, I'd let you throw with my Monster because I know how hard it can be to find what you like.

Thanks John. Really appreciate the feedback.Hello Jim
Plenty of back bone and power, I caught a 40lbs BF last week on my 80 monster , It was paired up with a Shimano Torium .. The torium was loaded with 50# max cuatro with a top shot of 25# seagur ... Took about 10 minutes max
