Check out this old girl, She’s pretty!
not even a scratch and runs perfectly. I opened it up real fast to see it packed full of grease ready for the season. Back when they were making gear that would never die!

I was surprised to see the California sticker. I never knew they were here back in the 70’s!

Does anybody out there lurking in the vintage gear forum. Ever remember these or have any fish on them.

It’s a tank. And about the size of a
14k-20k sized modern spinner. But at least a LB heavier. I’d love to see what their spinning rod was to match this

Saw one of those this am at a swap meet. He wanted a dollar. I said to much.
I got this for $3 but was really rewarded with the rest of the $7 spent.

Those mint PROLITES are just what the Dr ordered for this season’s island yellows, and that olive or green sardine is a first gen flat back 45! That dynatrol is going cow draggin can’t wait!

I have 2 of them, brand new in the box, never been fished. One is a 7850 and the other is a 7700. They have been sitting in a drawer for the past thirty or forty years. I completely forgot about them until I read this post.

Those old Daiwa’s were all metal, solid performers, that with some care will land pretty much anything… forever! Like the old D.A.M Quick reels!

When I started working for Wyle Labs, we had a massive warehouse in Garden Grove, and soon our Sales Group moved to the Upstairs offices of Daiwa's 100K sq ft Bldg full of Fishing and Golf Everything. Sales/Service were downstairs, along with a a big fishing tackle showroom. I sold them their computers, they in turn called me when a deep sea, trout rod returned for service when only a tip guide came off. I'd buy one for 50cents and put on with a cig lighter. Returns rods otherwise were tossed into the dumpsters !
I saved their Koy from freezing in a courtyard pond when in the 30's one morn, got a free heavy rod/reel. Great
guys and service. Daiwa Bass Pros often
were in town, casting new rigs in the parking lot and lawn out front. LOL
We later moved to Irvine, where Shimano was just up the street. LOL Things change. HA!
    Daiwa moved elsewhere too .

Irvine, across the street from Costco? I worked just off Irvine Center just the other side of the 133 and went home on Barranca/Muirlands.
